Full weeks generally run from Friday to Friday.

At off peak times it is available for 3 and 4 day short breaks. 

Short breaks usually start or end on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday. If you need a different start or end date for a short break, please email us and we will see if we can make it happen.

You can book for stays of up to 14 days on this page. However we do sometimes allow stays of up to one month, for example when visitors come on long international trips or are moving house. Please email to enquire.

This booking widget will show you an estimated cost for four people. Then if you select some dates and click through to the booking form and enter some details it will give you a more accurate price for your individual group size and needs. Standard Prices

The prices in the table are for up to 6 people staying in the bedrooms, plus an infant using the cots. Price includes all utilities, bed linen and towels for each guest and a welcome pack, as well as staples like loo roll, shower gel, washing up liquid etc.

If you have a larger group you might find the pricing will change as you book, so here are the details you need to understand the prices.

Larger groups

We love that mixed aged families come to use The Holt for their holiday in Shropshire, often these groups need individual arrangements to get the children into the right rooms with the right adults!

We also welcome groups of adult friends who walk together or meet for a reunion and don't mind sharing a room but don't necessarily want to share a bed. 

So in additon to the six spaces in the permanent beds, we can also offer the following (see this little plan for a visual). To book any of these, please tick them in the extras section.

Family room - we have a single day bed and single trundle bed available in the family room suitable for children or small adults. So that room can sleep two in the main bed plus two children, or one child plus an infant in a travel cot.

Kingsize Room - We can add a Zbed with single bed mattress suitable for children or small adults. So that room can sleep two in the main bed plus one in the ZBed, or an infant in a travel cot.

Twin Room - We can turn the twin beds into a superking (additional charge of £25) if desired. There is room for the travel cot for an infant.

Living Room - We have a small double sofa bed in the living room. This is definitely of good enough quality for a few days sleep but we would probably not recommend it for a long two week stay.

We charge a nominal sum of £20 per person per stay (not per night!) to cover laundry for any groups over six people. We do not charge anything for infants in the travel cot.

Medium groups of adult friends.

If you book for six people or fewer we will assume you just wish to use the main beds unless you let us know by clicking on the extras. But you might prefer to have a separate bed made up. For example, we sometimes have walking friends who are happy to sleep in the same room but not in the same bed, so they might ask for a ZBed or day bed made up even though the total group size is only six.  If you are unsure whether it can work for you, just email us and ask about the best set up for your group.

Guests coming and going?

If you have some people coming for half the holiday and some for the other half, as we sometimes do with intergenerational families, you might not need pull out beds made up even though there are more than six people total during the whole holiday, if your guests don't mind using the same bed but just having their own clean towels. Please register all the people who will come on your booking so we have details for the insurance and we know how many towels to provide. We don't do mid week laundry, but if you prefer to freshen the sheets or pillow cases in between there is a washer and dryer on site.

Small groups – If you are a single person or a couple who will only need the use of one bedroom, we can offer a discount of 10% off the usual price. Please use the discount code 2guests1room in the booking form.

How To Book

To book your holiday, use the booking form above and send in your request. The dates will be reserved for you until we are able to confirm them, which will usually be within 24 hours and often within a couple of hours. You will then get an email confirming that your dates are available and you will be able to click through to pay your 25% deposit online, or if you prefer, get the bank transfer details or details of how to pay by cheque. When we have received your deposit your booking will be confirmed. If you change your mind or don't pay the deposit we will just release your chosen dates, so no harm done.

The balance of your payment will be requested 4 weeks before your holiday, at which time we will double check any special requirements you may have and send you some information about the house to help you to know what to pack (and not to pack). We ask for a £100 refundable breakages deposit which is returned within one week after we have cleaned after your stay. We very rarely ever have need to keep any part of the deposit but it is there to enable us to be able to rectify any problems or breakages in time for the next guests.

Terms And Conditions

We will send full terms and conditions and other important details in your booking email, so you can check you are happy with everything before you pay your deposit. But please enquire if you have specific questions. As with all holiday bookings we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover your holiday. Ideally it should cover your possessions, accidents and compensate you if you have to cancel your holiday. We have tried to put all the information that we think is helpful on this site, but it remains your responsibility to ask us any other details which are important to you to make your holiday work.
