Comfort and hospitality
Comfort is key
We want you to go out into the countryside and enjoy yourselves, get muddy boots, let kids splash in the brook, and come back without worrying about messing up the house.
We have a boot room with hanging racks and utility cloths to dump your muddy gear so you can flop out on the sofa. There is a gas fire for cold days and blankets in every room, and hot water on tap for everyone to shower or bath your cares away.
If you are concerned about accessibility, please read our access statement here: Access Statement for The Holt
Hospitality
Many of our guest groups are multigenerational extended families or reunions of old friends. It's nice to eat out and be lazy on holiday but sometimes it's nice to make a big meal together too.
There are plenty of seats - between the large dining table and the extended kitchen table. There's 10 place settings for everything as well as plenty of spare cups and glasses, tea and coffee sets, place mats and cutlery, as well as cooking equipment for most meals, as well as a freezer - a real home away from home. There's even tupperwares for leftovers!
We are happy to receive your grocery delivery on the day of your arrival and put away any chilled foods, please enquire to arrange.
couple on a long weekend
2012
The Holt offers one the complete holiday experience. Every amenity, superb comfort and a location to dream of. We had the most comfortable time and played a game called 'betcha they haven't got' - well, you've just got everything and we soon gave up playing! Just perfect.
multi-generation family of 8
2017
An ideal base for the three generations to exert energy from fell running to cycling, to hiking and gentle 'strolls' for Grandma. Then to retire to a warm and comfortable home to relax, refer to the history of wild animals, birds and plant life.
All agreed they would love to return!
