An Unbeatable Location
The Holt Shropshire holiday cottage is located at the top of Burway Road, in Church Stretton. It is the last house before the cattle grid which divides Church Stretton from the Long Mynd. Walk left out of the drive and in a few minutes you are in a bustling historic market town, turn right and within one minute you're breathing in the glory of Cardingmill Valley.

The Holt's location is its best asset. Church Stretton is a beautiful historic town full of unique shops and eateries. There are fantastic walks and cycle routes in every direction right from the door. And there are wonderful tourist attractions, historic sites and children's activities, all within thirty minutes at Ludlow, Craven Arms, Shrewsbury and Telford. We keep folders of suggested walks and cycle routes, and contact details for suggested attractions in the house.
What Our Guests Think
We are proud that many of our guests come back time after time.
Here are some of the lovely things they have said about their stay:
2022 // Family of seven
Our sixth time here! With an ever-growing family. Thank you as always for our Church Stretton summer home and for all your kindness and thoughtfulness.
2020 // Family of five
Wow! What a place! Hang up your car keys and step out onto so many walks. Such a perfect setting and so welcoming. Thank you, we'll be back!
2012 // Family of four
Wonderful accommodation and so well equipped, and loads of little details that make all the difference. If you wanted to spend all your time here relaxing and taking in the views you'd have a great time. But we could also recommend some of the cycle routes supplied and Ludlow makes a lovely day out. Our kids loved the castle and it has great tea rooms. Thanks, we will definitely be coming back!
2019 // Family of four
Our fourth stay to date! And our favourite self catering cottage. Thanks again, the welcome food was much appreciated. We've spent time with family, and done some great local walks and geocaching.
2019 // Multi-generation family of eight
Such a wonderful place to stay, and flexible for four to eight people throughout the week! Everything we could ever want for adults and children and such wonderful views. The kids really don't want to leave.
2017// Multi-generation family of six
Thank you! We have stayed in many holiday homes but never in one so very generously equipped. Lots of thoughtful touches and a friendly and informative welcome.
